Laura K. - Daily Manager

"Hi! My name is Laura and I was born and raised in Nashville. I have traveled around the world, but never have left this place I call home. I have a bachelor's degree in K-8 education from Tennessee Tech University and used to be a kindergarten teacher. I'm a mom to the seven most amazing humans on the planet and the four best/most fun/naughtiest dogs. I work really well in the chaos. I have always adored dogs. Some of my earliest memories are of me creating dog scrapbooks from my Dog Fancy magazine subscription surrounded by my stuffed dog collection and walls littered with dog posters on my 101 Dalmatians comforter bed set.  It was a slight obsession. In my free time I love to read, create art, handletter & journal, make all the coffee drinks & cocktails, bake sweet treats and love on all my people and pups. I promise to take the best care of your sweet fur baby and love on them to pieces."

Rachel - Daily Manager

"Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a dedicated Pet Care Specialist! I have 12 of my own animals, and spend my free days volunteering at the Animal Rescue Corps. My life is revolved around the health and wellbeing of each and every animal I get to care for."

Sam - Care Specialist

"Hello! My name is Sam. I moved to Nashville in 2021 having lived in New Orleans since 2012 when I moved there for college. I grew up in a small cow town in Northern Massachusetts.
I have years of experience working with animals. Growing up, I had three German Shepherds, two Labrador Retrievers, a Bernese Mountain dog and around 15 cats over my entire childhood. I started volunteering at my local humane society during the summers of high school and during college. In addition, I have years of experience house sitting animals, all with various needs. I truly believe that pets are a huge part of the family and should always be treated as such."

Kent - Care Specialist

"Hello kind humans and pet friends, my name is Kent Measell (pronounced Mah-zelle). Me, my wife,  and our Staffy, Lucy, moved from Michigan to Nashville in 2017 to get some more sunshine. Prior to moving I did professional pet care for 3 years as an "Athlete" (aka Dog Runner) for GR Dog Adventures. At my peak I was running 40 miles a week with my pack! Great relationships were formed during my time there. So much so that to express my appreciation I sketched pet portraits of the dogs and gave them to my clients as Christmas gifts. And that actually launched a little side gig drawing pet portraits! It was all a wonderful experience and it's led me to Prefurred Pets Nashville.

I love communing with Nature in a variety of ways, and especially with animals. I hold certifications in Nature-Connected Life Coaching as well as Forest Therapy Guiding, and I hope to someday integrate those modalities into also working with pets. I'm looking forward to getting outside with your pups!"

Dana - Care Specialist

"Hi, I'm Dana! I currently live in Nashville but I'm originally from New Jersey! I moved here for a fresh start and to figure out what I want to pursue career wise. I've worked in the food and beverage industry most of my life. I love making people feel seen, appreciated, and well taken care of. I decided to join Prefurred Pets because I'm a huge animal lover, and I strongly believe I can apply and grow my hospitality skills within this job. I grew up with 2 dogs and I have experience in pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors. I also live with my roommate's dog. He is pit-lab mix! I love and treat him as if he's my own. I strive to give pets a positive, loving experience in and outside their home. I can't wait to provide the best care for your pets!"

Madison - Care Specialist

"Hi there! I'm Madison, and my lifelong passion for animals runs deep! Growing up in New Jersey, my mom's work as a director for various animal shelters meant our home was always filled with furry friends, both our own and fosters needing a temporary home, though a few became foster failures!

After graduating last May with a Music Business degree from Belmont University, Nashville has officially become my home. I'm now looking forward to continuing my passion for pet care here in Music City.

Being far from my own beloved animals, I cherish the opportunity to treat every pet I sit for as if they were my own. I've always had a natural ability for understanding animal behavior and prioritizing their safety in any situation. I'm thrilled to join the Prefurred Pets family and offer my experienced and enthusiastic care, providing you with trustworthy and reliable pet-sitting while you're away."

Tyler - Care Specialist

"Howdy! I'm Tyler! I've been loving pets for 28 years, and professionally working with them for 7 years now. I'm new to Nashville and excited to meet all these new pets! Newsflash: I already think they're great!

Cats and dogs have been a constant source of love and entertainment in my life ever since my heart first beat - through the highs and lows, thick and thin, busy and boring days. They have provided me with support, passion, and purpose and it's my life goal to give back to them - a goal I know I can never fully achieve. I am extremely passionate about pets and treat them as I would any person in my inner circle.

Thank you for granting me the honor of caring for your family member. I can't wait!"

Anais - Care Specialist

"Hello, my name is Anais! I'm originally from Virginia and have been in Nashville for about 4 years. I've been pet sitting and dog walking for my family and friends for as long as I can remember. I love to care for animals and enjoy getting to know their personalities! I have worked at a dog daycare for 3 years and have become very knowledgeable with dog care, safety, and body language. I have always watched over pets in my care with the same attentiveness that I give to my own, and do my best to ensure that they are happy and healthy!"

Adam - Care Specialist

"Hi, I’m Adam! I grew up in Golden, Colorado and have lived here in Nashville since 2011. I have a nine year old dog, named Pedey who my wife and I have raised since he was six weeks old.  We currently live in the Germantown area, with a seventeen-month old baby named Tate as of July, 2025. Pedey will always be our first baby and we sometimes have to remind him of that when he gets jealous of his new little brother! We are so grateful for both of them.

I work with all kinds of pets and specialize in gentle, trustworthy care that fits each animal’s unique personality and needs. I help make sure your pets stay happy, safe, and loved while you’re away — whether it’s for a quick walk, pet sitting overnight, or one of our adventure outings. I get to know each pet like they’re my own and treat them like family, because they are!

I’m reliable, laid-back, and a firm believer that belly rubs, scratches behind the ears and routine go a long way. So if you're looking for someone to keep your pets calm, comfy, and a little spoiled while you're gone, I’ve got you."
